How to improve session init performance?

It takes TBG a very long time to load the user's session, about _270ms.

I tried a very simple PHP script to see if it was session_start() related, but it ran quick:

$start = microtime(true);
session_start();
$time_elapsed_secs = microtime(true) - $start;
echo "Seconds: $time_elapsed_secs";

Result runs in about .004ms

Any ideas on how to speed up TBG session init?

There is an issue in PHP where concurrent session initializations are very slow, mainly because of how php handles sessions. We've done some work to improve this functionality for production environments, but having debug mode on makes it slower because the debug tools need to write to the session at the end of each request, making subsequent requests slower.

Could you verify that debug mode is disabled before looking into other options?
